Goats and Gardens is a small independent goat farm situated
on 13 mostly wooded acres in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. The Nubian/ Saanen
cross goats have a small two stall barn complete with milking parlor.
The current herd started in 1990 with one goat and has grown to its
curent size of thirteen goats, five of which are milking. The
milk is used for drinking, making cheese, buttermilk, soap, and our

homemade
favorite- Cheesecake!Take a walk out to the chicken coop and you'll find 20+ Araucana laying hens. The flock is allowed free access to the goat pasture, woods, and yard at Woodhaven. These unique laying hens are called the "Easter egg chicken" because of the colored eggs they lay. Egg shell colors range from pink to blue to green to tan. dozen of these is a rainbow in a box. Sure to delight young and old, as well as delicious to eat! A small greenhouse is the starting place for most plants and vegetables grown here on the farm. Each year a limited quantity and selection of vegetable seedlings are available for sale. Also found in the greenhouse is a variety of house plants such as jade and aloe.
