JT Curran

 John “JT “ Curran

As a child of the 50’s and 60’s, J. T. Curran was introduced to R&B and mesmerized by the sounds of Elvis and Little Richard. His family moved to the suburbs of Philly when he was 12 and the influences of black radio stations began to permeate through his blood. During high school he teamed up with a couple of friends to form a doo-wop group called the Violators. Singing with Jack and Frank throughout the early 60’s was more fun than lucrative. The Beatles rang the death knoll for doo-wop and J. T. licked his wounds and moved on. The music was still inside.
Throughout the rest of the 60’s and on into present day, he has amassed a large collection of 45’s, albums, cassettes, and cd’s covering a wide range of genres. He played with a number of different bands throughout the decades and finally made a decision to go it alone. He’s managed to learn a little from each experience. The result is a performance of an historical journey through the music of our times sprinkled with a few originals. The influences are blues, rock n’ roll, folk, and whatever else enters his body.

Kermit has played in coffeehouses and clubs in the New England area since his teens, His love of rock n roll, blues, country and folk has brought him to Alaska, California and Nashville. His travels have given him a rich library of experience that is reflected in his songwriting, and highlighted by his creatively skilled guitar and mandolin playing. The Backhouse Balladeers

The Backhouse Balladeers are Toby Hall on banjo, Stuart Moore on fiddle and Mike Kagan on Mountain Dulcimer. These three musicians met at the Monson General Store’s Friday night jam and soon found they shared a love & common interest for the "old time" style of music. They play the ballads, fiddle tunes, jigs & reels we inherited from other countries that are the roots of our North American folk music. Tunes with clever lyrics and ‘foot stompers’ with a contagious beat are the sounds one might have heard coming from a front porch on a Summer Saturday night long ago. Amid the banter between tunes you might even hear a joke or a funny story. It just adds to that hometown feeling.

The Doughty Hill Band

The Stutzmans and Smiths are back with their blend of acoustic favorites. Featuring Sid, Sunny and Tracy Stutzman with Brian and Morgan Smith, Doughty Hill is a family band with roots in that run from Blues to bluegrass. Throw in some Irish, a few Show songs, and a cross cut of songs from the 60’s and you have Doughty Hill.
