The History of Our Farm
Many of Maine's original farms
are no longer in existence, but this particular farm is part of Maine's
heritage of family run farms. It has been used as a working farm
throughout its history. This farm is on the Maine and National
Registers of Historic Places because the original integrity of the
buildings still remain intact. The farm was developed by the Burgess
and Grant families as a working dairy farm. In 1995 the Cookson family
purchased the farm and since has worked to restore much of the farm to
its original condition. The unique structure of the barn remains an
awesome sight as you walk into it.
