     Don Slowwalker in his own words........
 
 I was born in the North Country in 1935. I  enjoyed my life as a child. Me and my pony  roamed the fields and woods. I fished and hunted  like my grandfathers before me and I was  happy. I learned many lessons from my elders,  of life, Mother Earth, and respect for all.  Iroquois blood runs in my family.

 I was given the name of Slowwalker as a young  boy,and at age seventy-four it still remains a  part of me.I have traveled to many schools and  other events and passed on my culture and  spirit.

 Life is full of learning and journeys and I like  to feel that I have traveled well.
