Mapleshade Farm

Mapleshade Farm, located on Route 94 in Garland, is a small, family oriented farm established in 1995. What began as a simple 4-H Dairy Goat Project has grown into a thriving farming endeavor encompassing three generations. Mapleshade Farm is home to: Grampa's Greenhouse, specializing in a variety of annuals, perennials, vegetable, and herb seedlings. The Mapleshade Farm herd of ADGA registered of Dairy Goats and Old Farm House Creamery, our brand new cheese making facility where we produce a soft chevre sold under the lable "Old Farm House Creamery". Also available at the farm on a seasonal basis are herbs, vegetables, blackberries, and farm fresh eggs year round.
While we find great joy and satisfaction in the daily upkeep and care of the animals and greenhouse we feel it is important to extend our knowledge of farming and animal husbandry to the community. Over the years we have created numerous outreach programs which allow area youth and adults to experience farm life and agriculture firsthand. Our Kids For Kids Program which is geared towards youths is an hour long presentation for library, school, and day care groups. Goat Herder 101 is geared towards families and individuals considering getting into small scale goat farming. Our Mapleshade Adventure Programs are suitable for Girl or Boy Scout Troops or small Daycare or School groups. This program allows children and their parents to spend a morning on the farm interacting with all of the farm animals and learning about their care and management.

We thank you for your interest in Mapleshade Farm and hope to see you soon for a farm fresh experience!
